Triumphant Prosperity is a series of paintings that was commissioned by The Galeries for the 2018 Lunar New Year Celebrations.
This body of work is a celebration of the traditions and beliefs of the concept of good luck and fortune within in the Chinese culture. As an artist my work can be best described as an explosion of wild, eccentric chaos. For this series I wanted to combine my contemporary style with a more traditional influence from Chinese art. The wild nature of my works contrasts the more classic and conventional influence of Chinese art and within these pieces a harmonious balance can be found between what can be described as opposing elements and styles.
Each piece was painted on cotton duck stretched canvases with acrylic and tempera paint.
